Parent
Portal is the student information platform used by Portsmouth Public
Schools to keep parents and families engaged in their child’s academic
performance and progress. Through Parent Portal, families have the ability to
see real-time grade information, attendance data as well as upcoming/current
assignments. You can log in to the Parent Portal website at any time, through
any device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.).

this list of Frequently Asked Questions.
The Parent Portal platform is run directly through the
division’s Student Information System, PowerSchool. Like all PPS software, Parent Portal is
governed by the PPS Acceptable Use
Policy in the Student Code of Conduct. Any abuse/misuse of this system
will result in revoking access to the portal. By creating your Parent Portal
account, you are acknowledging your agreement with all terms in the Acceptable
Use Policy.
Best Practices for
Parent Portal
To help keep your child’s information secure as well as make the best use
of the Portal, here are the best practices to have in place:
- Do not share the Access ID and/or Password with anyone, including even your child. All students have been provided with their own login to access their grade and performance data as well.
- If a student is new to the district or parents/guardians have never picked up an Access ID and Password, please contact your child’s school. The Access ID and Password must be picked up from the student's school in person; they will not be given out over the phone.
- When creating your Username, please do not enter any spaces or special characters (for ex, '$#@()!), use only letters and numbers.
- Portsmouth Public Schools is not responsible for disclosure of confidential student information caused by inadequate protection of Usernames and Passwords by students, parents or guardians. Caution must be exercised in order to maintain the confidentiality of student records and information.
- Automated E-mail notifications are provided for your convenience only. They are not intended to serve as the primary tool for monitoring student attendance and/or progress. Although the Parent Portal is a very useful tool, it is not intended to replace direct communication between students, parents, and other staff members.
- Any specific questions, concerns, or information requests related to academic performance as related to eligibility, scholarships, class ranks, college entrance, et. al, should be referred to the appropriate building staff directly (i.e. a teacher, guidance counselor, or administrator).
- This resource is for informational purposes and changes frequently as teachers update grade data. Final and official grades and attendance will be printed on the student's report card at the end of each grading period.
